Description
Join us for a week-long bike & barge trip on the Clair de Lune with your friends in “wine country.” The Claire de Lune has 9 cabins available and has a reputation for very nice 3 course dinners. This region is best known for Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé wines as well as incredible medieval castles and palaces. This is a casual trip. We’ll have a multilingual guide. If you want to take a day off and stay on the barge, so be it, that’s fine. Daily mileage will range from 16 - 31 miles. If you are not a regular cyclist, no problem, you have the option of renting an electric bike. We’ll be riding intermittently along the Loire River, making stops along the way at medieval villages and points of interest such as a winery for a wine tasting and a wine museum. The Loire flows north and west and is the longest river in France. It winds its way from the volcanic Massif Central all the way to the Atlantic.
